About this car
This 1989 560SEL is offered on eBay by louceb in Colonia, NJ. The asking price is $12,000. The car is finished in Black, an automatic gearbox, power from a 5.6L Gas V8 engine. The odometer shows 105,000 miles. On a W126, check for rust around the rear window and in the battery tray, and test the vacuum-operated door locks and the climate controls.
What the photos show
- black paint looks glossy and straight in the woodland photos, no repaint needed from what is shown
- chrome grille and trim look bright, no chrome work needed
- grey leather seats front and rear look clean and untorn, no need to reupholster
- dash and burl wood look glossy, but a phone screen is mounted on the console, budget removing it if you want it original
- sunroof is shown open and the headliner looks clean, no roof money visible
- engine bay looks complete and reasonably tidy, no obvious bay disaster in the photos
- trunk is shown full of bags and golf gear, so the trunk floor can't be judged
- underside is not shown in the sampled photos, so rust underneath can't be judged
Money: at $12,000 the glossy black paint and clean grey leather make this look like fair money for a 560SEL, with the unseen underside the main unknown.
