1964 Mercedes-Benz 230SL

• red paint is wet-gloss on every panel, including the door close-ups, no paint money needed
• the black pagoda hardtop is on the car and just as glossy, a pricey extra already in the deal
• red leather seats, dash and door cards all look fresh, no reupholster needed
• gauges and dash trim look crisp, no dash bill coming
• the engine bay holds a modern Mercedes engine under a red plastic cover, not the original six, so this is restomod money, not originality money
• big modern alloy wheels replace the steel wheels, fine if you like the look, budget for stock wheels if you don't
• underside is coated red and looks solid, with only a rusty exhaust bracket bolt head showing, no floor money visible
• the trunk floor is bare, dirty and scuffed with loose wiring and the battery moved into it, so budget trunk finishing money the shiny photos don't suggest
• the soft top itself is never shown raised, can't judge its fabric, so ask for a top-up photo

Money: at $149,500 the paint and cabin are done, but you are paying restomod money — and the unfinished trunk says the build's last details are still on you.
