1954 Mercedes-Benz 220A

• Black paint looks dull and swirled with patina rather than gloss, so a full detail at best and paint money at worst.
• Chrome bumpers and grille are presentable and fairly bright, no immediate re-chroming bill.
• The black soft top looks intact and fits, no top replacement obviously needed.
• Red leather seats are cracked, and the passenger seat shows a visible split, so a retrim or repair bill is coming.
• Dash wood looks faded and dry, so budget wood refinishing to match a top-level car.
• The engine bay shows rust and corrosion on the inner panels and fittings, real money to put right.
• Can't judge the underside, no underbody photos are shown, and on this car that is the big open question.

Money: at $99,500 you are paying near-restored money for a car whose photos show tired paint, split leather and a rusty engine bay, so the restoration bill sits on top of the price.
