About this car
Hemmings listing in Astoria, NY. Offered on Hemmings in Astoria, NY.
What the photos show
- Light blue paint is dull and tired with dents visible in both rear quarters and rust breaking out at the rear wheel-arch lip and lower door edges, so body and paint work is unavoidable.
- Chrome bumpers are dulled and surface-rusted in places, so rechroming joins the budget.
- The top is only ever shown folded, with a faded pink boot, and it is never raised in any photo, so its fabric and frame condition cannot be checked from this gallery.
- Red leather seats look supple and complete, the best part of the car, with no retrim obviously needed.
- The wood dash is faded and water-stained and a modern stereo and speaker are crudely fitted in the center console, so cabin woodwork and putting the dash back to stock will cost money.
- Engine bay is dusty and corroded with surface rust on the inner panels and a rust patch at the front apron edge, reading as long-unused rather than maintained.
- The exhaust tailpipe is heavily rusted, a small sign of the general level of age underneath.
- With only 8 photos in the whole gallery, whole areas never get a close look.
- Can't judge the underside — no undercarriage photo appears in this gallery.
- Can't judge the top up — it is never shown raised in any photo.
Money: at $49,950 the sound-looking red leather helps, but the dented, rust-spotted body, stained wood and tired engine bay make this a restoration-priced Ponton cabriolet wearing a driver-car price — negotiate hard or inspect first.
