About this car
Hemmings listing in Olathe, KS. 380SL in blue over tan leather.
What the photos show
- dark blue paint looks deep and glossy with a neat gold pinstripe, no repaint needed from what is shown
- tan seats look excellent and untorn front and rear, no need to reupholster
- hardtop paint and headliner look clean, no top money needed for the hardtop
- soft top is never shown, only the hardtop is fitted, so the soft top can't be judged
- trunk lining looks clean and dry, no trunk work visible
- engine bay is only shown from a distance and the brake booster looks surface-rusty, budget a closer bay inspection
- the one underside shot shows cracked, peeling undercoat with a rust spot breaking through, budget undercoat removal and rust checking
- dash is not shown close up in the sampled photos, so the dash can't be judged properly
Money: at $12,000 the glossy blue paint and excellent tan seats support the price, but the peeling undercoat in the one underside shot is exactly where R107 money hides.
