About this car
1978 450SL at Sierra Classics & Imports in Reno, NV. Detail page title: 'Used 1978 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL For Sale (Sold)', stock #047014. Harvested from the dealer's own website on Nov 2, 2026 — confirm availability at the source before travelling.
What the photos show
- pale silver-green paint looks flat and a little dull rather than glossy, a machine polish at least, possibly more
- chrome wheel-arch trims and wire wheels shine well, no wheel refurb bill visible
- hardtop is fitted and matches the body, no top mismatch to fix
- rear lights and chrome bumper are clean and bright, no replating cost at the back
- tan seats only seen through glass look intact, no retrim cost visible from outside
- can't judge the dash and wood, they are not shown close up, so interior cost stays open
- can't judge the engine bay, it is not shown, so budget an inspection
- can't judge the underside, it is not shown, so rust is unverified
Money: no sold price is on file, so value comes from visible condition only — a presentable hardtop car let down by dull paint, worth driver money rather than top money until the unseen areas are checked.
