What the photos show
- White paint looks glossy and even all around with no dents or rust visible, no repaint needed on what is shown.
- Chrome bumpers and grille look bright and straight, no chrome bill on the visible trim.
- Blue leather seats show creasing and surface wear but no tears, no need to reupholster right away.
- Dash top looks uncracked, wood trim looks glossy and the carpets look clean, no dash or wood spend needed.
- Blue soft top is up in later shots with a wrinkled, cloudy plastic rear window, budget for a window or top refresh.
- White hardtop is shown fitted and matches the body, a plus with no extra top to buy.
- Engine bay looks complete and original but dusty with aged hoses and reservoirs, budget a service and detail, not a rebuild on looks.
- Alloy wheels look presentable but one shows heavy paint flaking and corrosion, budget to refinish at least that wheel.
- Two of the sampled photos are dealer 'we buy cars' ads, not this car, so the gallery is padded.
- Underside is not shown in the sampled photos, so I can't judge rust or leaks underneath.
Money: At $16,950 the clean white paint, both tops and tidy blue interior make it look fairly priced for a 560SL, as long as the unseen underside is solid and the soft-top window is the only top spend.
