About this car
1979 450SL at Daniel Schmitt & Co. in St. Louis, MO. 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL in Saint Louis, MO | Daniel Schmitt & Co. The dealer's own page marks this car sold — it stays listed under the SOLD banner for reference and is left out of the price averages. What the photos show
- metallic brown paint looks rich and glossy in this single showroom shot, panels look straight, so no obvious repaint bill shows here
- chrome trim and wheels look bright, black bumpers look clean, so exterior trim is not an obvious extra cost
- tan seats are only seen from a distance with the top down, they look intact but close wear cannot be judged, so the interior still needs a proper inspection
- the convertible top is down and not shown raised, so I cannot judge the top fabric, window or seals, and a tired top would be a real replacement cost
- dash, engine bay and underside are not shown in the only photo, so I cannot judge them at all
Money: at the $33,900 sold price the single photo supports a handsome brown exterior only, top, interior detail and mechanical areas were not evidenced.
